About Me

 Kara is a licensed mental health therapist and CEO of Meteora Counseling Associates, Inc. She works with children (10+), adolescents, and adults, tailoring the therapeutic process to each client's individual needs. Kara strives to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and working toward meaningful change.

Her clinical experience includes treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and everyday life stressors. She provides trauma-informed care and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Kara's approach recognizes the impact that attachment and relationships have on a person's emotional well-being and ability to navigate relationships throughout life. She believes that early relational experiences can shape how individuals view themselves and others, influence their sense of safety and connection, and affect the ways they respond to challenges. Kara helps clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and build healthier, more secure relationships by prioritizing and creating a strong therapeutic relationship. This is fostered by trust, collaboration, and understanding, while respecting each client's individual pace and allowing them the space to explore their experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Kara earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Misericordia University. She continued her education at the University of Baltimore, where she earned a master's degree in Applied Psychology with a specialization in Counseling Psychology.
